How SwimLadder stores your information and controls access.
Your account and swimmer profile
The server stores your account credentials as password hashes, your parent contact details, and your swimmer’s name, category, birth year, school, affiliation, race times, measurements and training sessions.
Who can see the record
Parents can access only their own swimmer through the app. Before joining a club, the full record is not visible to coaches. A pending request shares basic swimmer details and the message you send with it.
After approval, coaches in that club can see the swimmer record, school affiliation and parent contact information. They can add or correct race times. Timing changes are recorded. Leaving the club stops that club’s access while preserving the parent account and history.
Passwords and recovery
Passwords are stored as hashes. Your verified recovery email is used to deliver password reset links. Links expire after 30 minutes, can be used once, and are stored as hashes. A successful reset signs out existing sessions. Recovery email addresses are not included in the coach roster.
Device storage
A secure login cookie keeps you signed in. Public website resources may be cached for offline access. Old nickname-based records may remain in your browser until you remove them; importing them does not delete the originals. Private account API responses are not cached by the application.
Download or request help
Use Download my record in My Swimmer to export your information. Contact the website administrator for account recovery, questions, or a request to remove stored information. Administrators operate the database and can help recover accounts.
